Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
