On the eve of his sixth anniversary in charge, Mikel Arteta has stated plainly that his continued role with the club is fundamentally dependent to delivering trophies.

Reflecting on: From Appointment to Present

Arteta was appointed on the 20th of December in 2019 and promptly led the team to an FA Cup triumph within months. Yet, that first major trophy remains his lone major honor following the departure of Unai Emery.

“Yes,” he stated upon being asked about his future past 2027. “But it’s about today. And a lot of things have to happen in the near future as well to earn the right.”

Arteta concluded, “That is a level that the Premier League has never experienced in the past. And we want to achieve even higher goals. And if we do that, I think we are on the correct trajectory to winning.”
